He developed and produced the BAFTA-award winning Embarrassing Bodies Online in 2008, won a second BAFTA for creating the UK’s first web switchover show Embarrassing Bodies: Live in 2010 and then developed the My HealthChecker suite of tests that won further BAFTA & Emmy awards in 2012 as part of the innovative Skype-based health show, Embarrassing Bodies: Live From The Clinic. His most recent work has included developing the cross-platform comedy panel show Was It Something I Said? for Channel 4, piloting various interactive quiz formats and producing the Emmy and BAFTA nominated Reverse The Odds.
Alex will take the audience through Reverse The Odds, an Emmy award winning and BAFTA nominated interactive project that set out to engage a TV audience to help bring a cure for cancer closer. The session will also feature some examples of previous Maverick projects, such as the multi-award winning Embarrassing Bodies, to explain how the nature of interactivity has changed over recent years and what developments and opportunities there are for programme makers and digital producers in the future.
