How do you go from making a documentary about war in Afghanistan to directing Hollywood stars like Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams in one of the most hyped American TV series in recent times? This is the topic, when Janus Metz gives a Q&A with Frederik Sølberg, film curator at SPOT, on Saturday, May 2.
Janus Metz is best known for his documentary “Armadillo” about the war in Afghanistan from 2010, which won several international film awards. But with his appearance on “True Detective” he takes a career step most film directors only dream of. Metz was invited by the series’ showrunner himself, Nic Pizzolatto, and figured it was one of those offers you can’t refuse.
As part of the Q&A Metz will show excerpts from his own productions and the first season of “True Detective”. The event takes place Saturday, May 2 at 4:15pm in Hotel Radisson and is part of SPOT the SPOT+ programme.
